Hell In A Handbasket

Cincinnati's Only Subculture Zine

Save Our Strays of the Tri-State seeks original songs and sponsors for the 2009 release of our fifth music compilation CD, “FREE LAP DANCES VOLUME 5: FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS.”

The Save Our Strays “FREE LAP DANCES” music compilation CD series was created to raise money to continue our mission but more importantly to raise awareness and encourage more people *everywhere* to take action and help reduce pet overpopulation through non-lethal efforts.

Save Our Strays of the Tri-State (http://www.soscinci.org) was organized in 1998 to help reduce the number of stray cats and dogs in Greater Cincinnati through non-lethal methods. We are a non-profit, 501©(3) organization. We do not have a shelter, but, rather, foster animals with volunteers. Our goals are to help humanely control the local stray population by using the Trap-Neuter-Return-Maintain (TNR) method for feral cats and adoption for domesticated pets when possible.

Jacob Heinz of award-winning band, Buckra, produced this CD as well as the other four in this series. All styles of music accepted and welcome. Only professionally recorded songs will be considered. Selected songs will then be mastered for the CD. Unreleased, re-mixed, or hard to find tracks will be given special attention. Songs must be submitted by September 28, 2009. To submit a song, visit http://www.sonicbids.com/freeLapDances

Sponsorship is available for a minimum of $50 or pre-approved in-kind contribution. Sponsors will receive a listing on the CD and on any print promotional material (name and/or logo) as well as 1 CD that will be delivered after duplication. Your contribution may also be used as a charitable donation on your taxes.

The CD is scheduled to be ready for distribution by late fall 2009. Please send checks and logos by September 15, 2009 to Save Our Strays, P.O. Box 62083, Cincinnati, OH 45262. Write "CD sponsorship" on the subject line of the check.

Sign me up BITCH! (oh wait, that was for the Black Devil Doll thing.)

Ahem.

Anyway, everyone needs to get involved with this! Save Our Strays is an awesome organization, and if you can't support this cause, then you have no soul. There, I said it.

In any case, even if you're not a band, you should donate HERE.

You can even donate supplies if you can't spare the cash!

Love,
Amber Waves

Pretty much. the wormwood is what gives the "opiate" effect. Otherwise its just really bad tasting alcohol. Absinthe in the U.S. must be Thujone Free to be approved by the FDA. Thujone is the chemical that comes from wormwood.

Is the fake absinthe just alcohol? I had the real stuff years ago. It was made by the friend of a girlfriend. He was a kind of wizard alchemist. It was kind of opiate like.

I'll be honest: I don't like absynthe. I've had it prepared the "proper" way, and I still don't like it. Feel free to revoke my cool card.
