I enjoy Gordo's, but if you're in Norwood, I suggest Quatman Cafe. They have some pretty tasty burgers and some of coldest beer in town (I suggest Hudy Delight on tap. Delicious!) . Also, a real friendly staff and very chill environment.
However, by far, my favorite place in Cincinnati to get a burger is Terry's Turf Club on Eastern Ave. Their burgers are outrageously awesome. Gigantic, juicy and definitely not health food. Good fries too, similar to Penn Station's. Pretty good beer selection too. Also, it has a cool, nostalgic atmosphere with lots of old neon signs and free peanuts (you can toss your shells right on the floor). Now, be forewarned, this place is not big and they have a dedicated following, so if you go anywhere between 5 PM and 8 PM, be prepared to wait a while for a table. Luckily, if you're a late night kinda guy like myself, the place is open 'til 2:30 AM every night (except Sunday), so if that's your thing, you can hit it up late night and avoid the crowds.
Although I recently turned MEGA-PUSSY and went vegetarian FIVE GUYS are by far the best burgers in town. Me and my dad discovered them in North Carolina and chowed down on them like 3 times in 5 days on vacation...their fries are fuckin epic too...especially with the cajun seasoning! ..dang...that really makes me want a burger...OOO - and thier hotdogs are also quite tastylicious..and they DO HAVE A VEGGIE BURGER!
Yessir, there's a Five Guys on Calhoun Street. Definitely an excellent burger (and yes, great fries too).
Also, Cincinnati recently got another nationally-acclaimed burger joint, Fatburger, which up until a few years ago was strictly a West Coast chain, when one opened up on Madison in Oakley. Pretty standard, but it is fun to quote Ice Cube and say; "No helicopter lookin' for the murder, two in the mornin' got the Fatburger" when you're driving home.
in and out are the same way too, I have been to CA once and had them and honestly I was not impressed but maybe its because I am not a west coast kind of girl but has anyone had them and loved it? I don't know if we will ever get one, or a dell taco lol which is another story.
That was a pretty long time ago right. I have some very hazy memories from like my teens or early twenties. Where were they located?
Wasn't there something called Taco Tico, around the same time? Maybe in Northside. Proll'y the first taco I ever had one day hanging at Ignatz' brothers place.
I drove by Terry's Turf Club tonight, and it was all I could do not to barge in there, and steal a burger off the grill and eat it right then and there.
absinthe aint worth it it was going for 300 somethin for the king gold bottles but its prob cheaper now with xmas and all that smaller bottles are like 40 to 70 bucks just go with moonshine or something like that
Pretty much. the wormwood is what gives the "opiate" effect. Otherwise its just really bad tasting alcohol.
Absinthe in the U.S. must be Thujone Free to be approved by the FDA. Thujone is the chemical that comes from wormwood.
Is the fake absinthe just alcohol?
I had the real stuff years ago. It was made by the friend of a girlfriend. He was a kind of wizard alchemist. It was kind of opiate like.
Love this post.
